Buffering or poor video quality

Buffering & Video Quality Issues

If your stream keeps buffering or the picture quality is lower than expected, your internet connection is usually the cause.

Check your connection speed

Dreamsquare Cinema recommends the following minimum speeds:

  • 3 Mbps — Standard definition (480p)
  • 5 Mbps — High definition (720p)
  • 10 Mbps — Full HD (1080p)
  • 25 Mbps — Ultra HD (4K)

You can test your connection at fast.com or through your internet provider.

Quick fixes

  1. Pause and wait — Give the stream a few seconds to buffer, then resume.
  2. Lower the quality — Tap the Settings icon in the player and manually set a lower quality level.
  3. Move closer to your router — Or connect via Ethernet for a more stable connection.
  4. Switch to 5 GHz WiFi — If your router supports dual-band, the 5 GHz band typically offers faster speeds with less interference.
  5. Close other apps and streams — Other devices or apps using your network can reduce available bandwidth.

On mobile data

Streaming over mobile data can be less stable. Set your mobile quality to Low or Medium in Profile Settings > Playback to reduce buffering.

Persistent issues

If buffering happens frequently despite a strong connection:

  • Restart the Dreamsquare app.
  • Restart your device and router.
  • Check if your internet provider is experiencing outages.
  • Contact [email protected] if the issue continues.
